Author Instructions

The International SportMed Journal (ISMJ) is an electronically delivered, international, peer-reviewed journal for professionals with a primary interest in sport and exercise medicine and exercise science. Article content for the ISMJ can cover any of the following areas in healthy and physically challenged individuals of all ages and levels of sport and exercise participation.:
1) prevention, diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of exercise related injuries;
2) prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of medical conditions and illness in exercising individuals;
3) lifestyle intervention (including physical activity) in the prevention and management of chronic diseases of lifestyle.

The ISMJ publishes the following types of articles:

  1. Original research articles
  2. Reviews – invited or submitted
  3. Short reports, e.g. interesting and novel case reports, office procedures, clinical examination techniques
  4. Letters to the Editor
  5. Position Statements
  6. Consensus Statements

Manuscripts are welcomed from all countries, and may be submitted for consideration on the understanding that:

  • articles have not been published previously elsewhere, either in print or electronically, and that they are not under consideration by any other publisher;
  • all original research studies have been approved by Research Ethics committees that comply with international standards according to the Helsinki Declaration;
  • authors have declared any potential conflict of interest.
  • All manuscripts must be submitted in English, and are subject to peer review.
